On offer is this English sterling silver trophy loving cup and cover bearing the hallmarks  for  Birmingham 1926  and the makers mark of F.C.Richards .  The trophy loving cup  is of  good  size and weight . The overall height is  11.5 " , the diameters are ,  base , 5.4 " , cup top 6.5 " and the handle width is 10.5  " . The  weight is  1625  grams ,  52.25  troy ounces , heavy for its size.
This is a most substantial sterling silver trophy and cover, well made to a good design using heavy gauge silver. The cover has a most attractive finial and a decorative running gadroon band as a rim. The cup body is deep and virtually straight sided , dipping in at its lower point to a short , squat stem over a spread base with rolling lands.   There is an applied central band on the cup body decorated
with a running gadroon band to match that on the cover rim ; this same decoration also occurs on the stem knop.
This is a most robust piece of sterling silver which will suit you well as a winners prize or purely as a display piece in your home / study / den.
There is no  inscription on this trophy loving cup  , so you can display it as it is or have your own dedication inscribed thereon.
The whole is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and is beautifully polished ready to go on display.
For your guidance , I use the words " EXCELLENT CONDITION " only if it is ........., " GOOD CONDITION " to indicate that there are no serious condition problems , but that there may be surface blemishes such as light discolouration , minor dings , dents or scratches commensurate with the age of the piece..............
