Antique British Sterling Silver Tankard Ca. 1754 Thomas Whipham London

This listing is for a fine quality British sterling silver mug/tankard that was was made in London in 1754.  It is hand-hammered and has a very nice shape with a scroll handle.
Maker:  There are some potentials but I believe that I have narrowed the maker's mark down to Thomas Wipham who was active in the mid-18th century and was a prolific maker of fine quality hollowware particularly coffee pots, tea pots, tankards and mugs.  Other potentials are John Wirgman, James Wilks, and Fuller White.  The maker's mark is rubbed on the first initial but there is enough of it there to attribute the mark to Thomas Wipham (but cannot guarantee it).
The mug/tankard is 4 3/4" tall and 3 3/8" in diameter.  It is made of heavy gauge silver and it weighs 12.48 troy ounces.
Very good condition for it's age - almost 300 years old. Great condition for age (almost 300 years old).  It sits nice and flat with no wobbles, there are no distracting dings or dents and there are only very light surface scratches from use and polishing. There are a couple of very tiny, small marks on the rim/lip of the piece but I do not know if the marks are dings or if just flaws of the making process.  A really nice, fine piece.    There is no monogram.
