Chilton Books was started in 1904 by George Buzby Chilton. It is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Initially, the company concentrated on automotive manuals that assist the readers to make sense of cars in a straightforward manner. It was subsequently acquired by other larger publishing companies, such as Cengage Learning.
Chilton primarily wrote in English and found an audience in the United States and internationally. It expanded internationally with its pragmatic books, yet it got a large following in fiction with the publication of Dune and demonstrated its readiness to venture into the new.
